Video is powerful. We all know this. How powerful is it? Well, according to Forrester Research 1 minute of video is worth 1.8 million words. Again, 1 minute of video is worth 1.8 million words. Marketer Seth Godin's blogs are on average 200 words. At that rate, he would have to write 9000 blogs to have the same effect as 1 minute of video. Furthermore, the digital era has made it easier than ever before to effectively measure consumer habits.
Keep it simple, stupid - KISS. We’ve all heard it. Some of us more than others (Thanks Coach Hildenbrandt). The acronym has been around since the 60’s. The idea is simple - avoid complexity unless absolutely needed. You have to simplify your content marketing message. However, I’m still amazed by the number of John Grisham-esque twists and turns I hear in marketing efforts and sales pitches. It appears the creators of this content have been taught KIDS (Keep It Difficult, Silly).
Celebs are catching the YouTube bug.
Reelio's Co-founder and VP of Marketing brings us back to basic, but not-to-be-overlooked sales tactics, as he reflects on his first sales job in college.
Welcome. And for our Spanish speaking friends, Welcomo. I'm assuming most of you don't spend countless hours scouring Youtube because that's my job. In my virtual travels, I've come across a few trends that I think are worth mentioning in order to help you understand just what exactly is going on out here in the internets and how you can monetize on them. Since there are quite a few, I've decided to break up this guide into multiple tours. This is is the Personal Video tour. If you have purchased tickets for anything other than the Personal Video tour, please wait behind the yellow line for the next vehicle. Driver, we're all clear. Please keep your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside of the vehicle at all times. I don't have insurance.
For successful video content, think about why people will want to share it. Let go of the dream that it will go viral.
